COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science requires students to complete a comprehensive curriculum combining liberal arts, science, and specialized radiologic training, totaling 121–124 credit hours. Core courses include college-level mathematics through MA 120, natural science with lab via BI 105 or BI 111, and social science through PY 101, ensuring foundational knowledge applicable to healthcare settings. Students fulfill a 3-hour Global Studies or Community Engagement requirement through RT 465, Clinical Education VI. The major requires 77–80 credit hours of focused coursework, beginning with prerequisites such as human anatomy and physiology (BI 220), chemistry (CH 131 or CH 135), and medical terminology (HE 124), which may be taken concurrently with the first semester in the major. The radiologic science curriculum emphasizes both theoretical and applied learning through courses including RT 451 Introduction to Radiologic Science; RT 452–RT 458 Radiographic Procedures and Radiologic Science I–III; RT 459 Radiation Biology and Protection; and clinical education sequences RT 460–RT 464. Advanced courses include RT 466 Radiographic Pathology, RT 467 Image Evaluation, RT 469 Cross-Section Anatomy, RT 488 Radiography Curriculum Review, and RT 499 Radiologic Science Capstone. This integrated program equips students with the technical expertise, clinical experience, and professional competencies required for certification and employment as competent, knowledgeable, and adaptable radiologic technologists.
