COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a Strength and Conditioning Concentration prepares students for professional roles in athletic performance, strength training, and conditioning across high school, collegiate, and professional sports settings. Accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Strength & Conditioning Education (CASCE), this program combines foundational science with applied performance training. Students complete core liberal arts requirements in math (MA 120 or higher), natural science (BI 105, BI 111, or BI 112), philosophy (PL 255 Ethics), and social science (PY 101 General Psychology). The 41–42 credit hour kinesiology foundation includes EN 112 or an advanced writing course, CH 131 or CH 135 Chemistry, MA 155 or SO 230 Statistics, PH 117 or PH 231 Physics, and key courses such as KN 101 Introduction to Kinesiology, KN 216 Functional Anatomy and Physiology, KN 310 Applied Sports Medicine, KN 319 Biomechanics and Motor Control, KN 376 Motor Behavior, KN 381 Exercise Physiology, KN 393 Sports Psychology, and KN 420 Stress Physiology. Students then complete the Strength and Conditioning Concentration (15 credits), which includes KN 236 Exercise Testing and Technique, KN 271 Exercise and Nutrition, KN 314 Exercise Programming, KN 455 Principles of Strength and Conditioning, and KN 475 Professional Certification, along with a capstone in either KN 472 or KN 499.
