COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) in Finance at Avila University is a 120-credit hour program designed to develop students’ professional knowledge, analytical skills, and ethical decision-making abilities for success in diverse business and financial environments. The curriculum includes 38–51 credit hours of core courses in liberal arts and mathematics, emphasizing quantitative and analytical thinking through courses like MA 120 College Algebra and EC 202 Principles of Microeconomics. The 36-hour School of Business core provides a strong foundation in accounting, management, economics, marketing, and finance, including key courses such as AC 201 Principles of Accounting I, MG 321 Management, MK 310 Marketing, and FI 330 Finance. The Finance major requirements, totaling 18 credit hours, deepen students’ expertise with advanced coursework such as FI 331 Investments, FI 432 Derivatives, FI 435 Financial Policy, and FI 437 International Finance, along with elective options in accounting and economics. Students must also complete electives to reach the 120-hour graduation requirement. Technical proficiency is ensured through EC 240 Statistical Analysis and EC 341 Quantitative Analysis.
