The School of Nursing at Auburn University at Montgomery prepares students to become skilled, compassionate, and culturally competent healthcare professionals who are capable of leading and collaborating in diverse clinical settings. The School of Nursing offers a full spectrum of programs, including RN-to-BSN, traditional BSN, three MSN specializations, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), all accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), ensuring graduates meet rigorous professional standards.The nursing curriculum integrates foundational knowledge, clinical skills, and leadership development. Core undergraduate courses include Fundamentals of Professional Nursing, Health Assessment, Pharmacology, Nursing Care of Adults, Pediatrics, and Psychiatric Nursing, alongside courses in Evidence-Based Practice, Population-Based Healthcare, Nursing Informatics, Health Policy, and Ethics. Students also participate in immersive clinical experiences such as Adult Health Immersion, Childbearing and Pediatric Nursing Practica, and Transition-to-Practice courses that provide real-world application of theory and skills.Graduate programs focus on advanced practice, leadership, and systems management. Courses include Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Physical Assessment, Pharmacotherapeutics for Advanced Practice, Population Health Management, Health Systems Leadership, Quality Improvement, and Translating Evidence into Practice. DNP students engage in practicum experiences and capstone projects such as DNP Practicum I–III, Health Systems Leader Practicum, and Advanced Practice Nurse Practicum, fostering skills in clinical decision-making, leadership, policy advocacy, and interprofessional collaboration.Through a combination of classroom instruction, simulation labs, and clinical placements, students develop critical thinking, clinical judgment, and management capabilities. Graduates of the School of Nursing are well-prepared to meet the challenges of modern healthcare, contribute to patient safety and quality outcomes, and assume leadership roles in clinical practice, education, and healthcare administration.
