COURSE CURRICULUM

The Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration) MSc is structured around a series of modules that combine theoretical learning, practical skill development, and professional growth to prepare students for a career as a Chartered Physiotherapist. The program begins with Applied Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, providing a solid foundation in the biological sciences necessary for understanding human movement and function. Physiotherapy Skills introduces core clinical techniques and interventions, while Professional Development focuses on ethical practice, communication, and reflective learning. Practice-Based Learning 1 and 2 offer hands-on experience in real healthcare settings, allowing students to apply knowledge, develop clinical reasoning, and build confidence in patient care. Advanced Physiotherapy Skills further refines practical competencies, preparing students to manage complex cases. The Dissertation module develops research literacy, enabling students to undertake independent investigation and contribute to evidence-based practice. Practice-Based Learning 3, 4, and 5 continue to provide immersive clinical experience across a range of settings, consolidating expertise and professional judgment. Leadership, Health Coaching and Employability prepares students for future career opportunities, focusing on leadership, teamworking, and strategies for promoting health and wellbeing. Together, these modules ensure graduates are clinically competent, research-informed, and ready to practice safely and effectively as highly skilled physiotherapists in diverse healthcare environments.
