COURSE CURRICULUM

The Illustration MFA is structured around five key modules that guide students through a journey of creative and professional development. The first module, Experiment, encourages students to take creative risks and push the boundaries of their artistic practice through exploration of new techniques, materials, and concepts. Coëxistents focuses on collaboration, allowing students to engage with peers, professionals, and interdisciplinary communities to expand their understanding of illustration within broader creative contexts. In Explore, students deepen their individual artistic voice by investigating themes, narratives, and methods that align with their personal interests and creative goals. Emerge emphasizes the development of a distinctive professional identity, helping students refine their practice and prepare to present their work to wider audiences. The final module, Confirm Illustration, serves as a culmination of the program, where students produce a major body of work that demonstrates both artistic maturity and theoretical insight. Throughout these modules, critical reflection, research, and professional awareness are integral to the learning process.
