COURSE CURRICULUM

The Animation MA is structured to provide students with a comprehensive and practical understanding of contemporary animation practice. The course begins with Design Thinking, which introduces students to creative problem-solving methods and innovative approaches to visual storytelling, encouraging them to generate original concepts and solutions. Technical Revolution focuses on developing advanced technical skills, including software proficiency, digital workflows, and emerging technologies that shape modern animation. The Animation Proposal module allows students to research, plan, and pitch their own projects, fostering skills in project management, conceptual development, and professional communication. Building on this, the Innovation Project: Animation provides an opportunity to experiment with creative techniques and production methods, applying both technical and theoretical knowledge to produce imaginative work. Finally, the Major Project: Animation serves as the culmination of the degree, where students undertake an independent, in-depth project that demonstrates their creative vision, technical competence, and ability to manage a full animation production from concept to completion. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to develop a distinctive artistic voice while engaging with industry practices, preparing them for careers in film, television, digital media, advertising, and other sectors requiring high-level animation skills. By combining creativity, technical expertise, and professional insight, graduates leave equipped to contribute innovatively to the evolving animation industry.
