COURSE CURRICULUM

The Physiotherapy BSc (Hons) program provides a comprehensive pathway for students to develop the knowledge, skills, and professional attributes needed to become competent and confident physiotherapists. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in anatomy, pathophysiology, and practical skills, alongside developing personal and professional attributes that support effective clinical practice. Practice-based learning modules introduce students to real-world physiotherapy settings, allowing them to observe and engage in professional practice under supervision. The second year deepens this understanding by focusing on developing practice skills, population health, and research methods, enabling students to apply evidence-based approaches in diverse clinical contexts. Practice-based learning continues, giving students further exposure to clinical environments and enhancing their confidence in patient care. In the final year, students consolidate their knowledge and skills through advanced modules in managing complexity, leadership, and employability, preparing them for autonomous practice. Practice-based learning placements in the third year allow students to integrate their learning in real-life clinical settings, developing critical thinking, decision-making, and professional judgment. A dissertation provides an opportunity to conduct independent research, exploring contemporary issues in physiotherapy. By the end of the program, graduates are fully equipped to provide safe, effective, and patient-centered physiotherapy care in a variety of healthcare contexts.
