COURSE CURRICULUM

The Politics, Philosophy and Economics BA (Hons) program provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary education, combining political analysis, economic understanding, and philosophical inquiry to equip students with the knowledge and skills to address complex societal challenges. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge in politics, exploring international relations, political philosophy, and the principles that underpin applied economics. They also examine economic policy, sustainable development, and the ethical and moral frameworks that shape decision-making. The second year deepens this knowledge with modules on international trade, democracies, political theory in practice, and the application of philosophical concepts to real-world issues. Students also gain practical experience through research methods and consulting projects, connecting theoretical understanding with professional practice. In the final year, the focus shifts to advanced topics, including authoritarianism, global governance, and the implications of globalization, alongside business ethics and sustainability. Students undertake independent research through a dissertation and research investigation, applying analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills across the three disciplines. By integrating politics, philosophy, and economics, the course enables students to understand the interconnectedness of governance, markets, and ethical frameworks, preparing graduates for careers in public policy, international organisations, business, research, and further study.
