The Media Production BA (Hons) degree offers an immersive, hands-on approach to mastering the skills needed to create compelling content across a wide range of media platforms. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge and practical experience through modules such as Researching Media Industries, TV Studio Production, Location Production, Media Contexts and Debates, Drama Project, and Digital Content Creation, developing technical competence, storytelling abilities, and an understanding of media theory. The second year expands these skills with Documentary Production, Magazine Production, PR and Communications, Short Film Projects, Indies: To Indiewood and Beyond, Critical TV Studies, Transmedia Practice, and Genre, allowing students to explore diverse media forms, creative approaches, and industry practices while engaging in both individual and collaborative projects. In the final year, students consolidate their learning and prepare for professional work through modules including a Research Project, Live Industry Project, Podcasting, Final Project, Post-Production, Multicamera Project, and Sound: Individual Project, gaining experience with advanced production techniques, creative problem-solving, and industry-standard workflows. Throughout the course, students develop critical thinking, project management, technical proficiency, and creative innovation, producing a portfolio of professional-quality work. Graduates are well-equipped for careers in film, television, radio, digital media, content creation, and other creative industries, ready to enter the workplace with practical expertise and professional confidence.
