COURSE CURRICULUM

The Transport Planning MSc provides a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices required to develop sustainable, efficient, and socially responsible transport systems. Core modules such as Analysing Transport Data, Transport Economics, and Transport Policy and Politics equip students with the analytical, economic, and political tools necessary to evaluate and influence transport systems and policies effectively. The Research Dissertation allows students to conduct in-depth, independent research, applying theoretical knowledge to practical challenges in transport planning. In addition to the core modules, students can tailor their studies through a range of options, including Airline and Airport Management, Environmental Policy, Assessment and Climate Change, Freight Transport and Logistics Services, Land Use, Planning and Transport, Modifying Transport Behaviour, and Streets, Places and Active Transport. These modules enable learners to explore specialized areas such as sustainable urban mobility, climate change mitigation in transport, freight logistics, and active travel initiatives, providing a holistic view of transport systems. The program emphasizes practical and critical thinking skills, combining quantitative analysis with an understanding of social, economic, and environmental impacts.
