COURSE CURRICULUM

The Cyber Security and Forensics MSc offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in both cybersecurity and digital forensics. Core modules provide a strong foundation, covering the principles of cyber security, network security management, information security governance and compliance, and digital forensics. Students complete a major Cyber Security and Forensics Project, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, developing critical analytical and problem-solving skills required in professional environments. The program also offers specialist options tailored to individual interests, with a Digital Forensics theme including modules such as Digital Forensics and Incident Response and Digital Forensics Applications, which focus on the investigation, analysis, and mitigation of cyber incidents. Alternatively, the Cyber Security theme includes modules such as Cyber Security Applications and Cyber Security Threats and Countermeasures, emphasizing proactive and defensive strategies to protect digital infrastructures. Through a combination of lectures, workshops, and hands-on laboratory work, students engage with contemporary challenges in the field, including cybercrime, threat detection, and risk management.
