COURSE CURRICULUM

The Real Estate course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of property development, management, and valuation, preparing them for a professional career in a dynamic industry. In the first year, students are introduced to core theories and concepts in real estate, including building technology, sustainable design, urban planning, valuation principles, and real estate law and ethics. Real-world projects and site visits, such as to high-profile developments like Marble Arch Place, allow students to link theory with practical experience. In the second year, the focus expands to advanced valuation techniques, commercial and residential property management, and the application of industry guidance, with an emphasis on understanding the Landlord and Tenant perspective, property portfolio management, and planning and sustainability considerations. Students develop critical analytical skills and apply them to more complex scenarios, linking practice with professional standards. The final year introduces international perspectives on property and planning law, exploring European and Asian case studies, while addressing contemporary issues in professional practice, including the RICS APC pathway. Students undertake a major Development Project, sourcing opportunities and carrying out valuations across property types. Additional topics include commercial property management, sustainable facilities management, global cities, marketing, and PropTech. Throughout the course, students gain the technical knowledge, analytical skills, and professional insight needed to succeed in the competitive and evolving real estate sector.
