COURSE CURRICULUM

The Data Science and Analytics BSc program provides a comprehensive education in data-driven decision-making, equipping students with the technical, analytical, and practical skills needed to manage and interpret complex datasets. In the first year, students gain a solid foundation in applied mathematics, statistical modeling, database technologies, software development, and business requirements analysis, establishing the essential computational and analytical skills required for further study. The second year builds on this knowledge, introducing advanced concepts in data engineering, database systems, information technology security, machine learning, and the data science project lifecycle, alongside data visualisation and communication techniques that enable students to translate insights into actionable outcomes. Practical, hands-on experience is emphasised through projects and real-world applications. In the final year, students explore specialised topics such as big data analytics, applied artificial intelligence, analytics in operations management, operational research, and digital marketing analytics. The curriculum also integrates customer relationship and change management using business intelligence and encourages innovation through information-driven entrepreneurship. A capstone final year project consolidates learning, allowing students to apply their skills to complex, real-world problems.
