COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computer Games Development course provides a comprehensive and progressive curriculum designed to equip students with the technical expertise, creative skills, and industry awareness necessary for careers in the games sector. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules in applied mathematics, programming methodology, game design, and an introduction to games development, alongside insights into the business aspects of the gaming industry through a Game Enterprise module. This year emphasizes both technical competence and an understanding of the broader creative and commercial context of game development. In the second year, the course advances into more complex topics, including game programming patterns, game engine architecture, maths and physics for games, 3D interactive media development, and XR multimodal interaction, alongside practical, work-based learning in a game studio environment. Students also gain exposure to mobile gaming, algorithms, and machine learning, preparing them for real-world problem solving and innovative design. The final year focuses on advanced interactive media, computer graphics programming, game AI, networking and security, interactive 3D visualization, and mobile native application development, culminating in a major final project that synthesizes technical knowledge, creativity, and project management. Throughout the course, students develop critical thinking, teamwork, and practical skills, enabling them to enter the competitive games industry as confident, versatile, and innovative professionals.
