COURSE CURRICULUM

The Accounting and Finance BSc is structured to provide a progressive development of accounting knowledge, practical skills, and professional awareness across three years of study. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation in financial and management accounting, quantitative methods, and global business, while also gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard software such as SAGE Accounting. The inclusion of elective modules, such as foreign languages, allows students to tailor their learning to personal interests. Year 2 deepens understanding of accounting concepts and finance theory, with a strong focus on ethics and corporate social responsibility, preparing students to appreciate the wider role of finance in society. Modules such as financial reporting, intermediate management accounting, and principles of financial management are complemented by options like corporate governance or law and business, while group presentations and case studies help refine communication and teamwork skills. By Year 3, the course shifts towards advanced study, with modules in management accounting, financial reporting, financial management, and strategic perspectives. Students also explore specialist areas through options such as taxation, company law, or contemporary issues in accounting, and can undertake a dissertation. This final stage encourages independent learning and professional development, equipping graduates for careers or further study.
