COURSE CURRICULUM

The Software Engineering course is structured to provide a progressive and comprehensive education in computing, combining theoretical foundations with practical application. In the first year, students build a solid understanding of computer systems, mathematics for computing, software development, and web design, while exploring current trends in computer science. This year establishes the essential skills and knowledge required for more advanced study. In the second year, the focus expands to more specialized areas, including algorithms, database systems, machine learning, mobile application development, object-oriented programming, operating systems, and robotics principles. Students also engage in software development group projects and explore software engineering principles and practices, gaining practical experience in designing and implementing software solutions. In the third year, students deepen their expertise through advanced modules in server-side web programming, applied robotics, concurrent programming, cyber-security, formal methods, the Internet of Things, and operational research. They also undertake a major final project, applying their cumulative learning to a complex, real-world software engineering challenge. Across all three years, the course emphasizes not only technical competence but also problem-solving, teamwork, and project management skills, preparing graduates for a wide range of careers in software development, systems analysis, cybersecurity, and emerging areas of technology.
