COURSE CURRICULUM

The Software Engineering with Electronics BEng combines core principles of electronics and software development to prepare students for careers in computer systems engineering. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge in applied mathematics, electronics, computer organisation, and programming, while gaining practical experience through projects such as microcontroller development. They also explore emerging trends in computer science, establishing the technical understanding needed for advanced study. In the second year, the focus shifts to more complex systems, including algorithms, object-oriented programming, embedded systems, and robotics principles. Students also gain hands-on experience with sensors, signals, mobile and server-side development, and machine learning, providing practical and analytical skills relevant to industry challenges. The third year emphasizes advanced applications and integration of electronics and software, covering areas such as applied AI, applied robotics, cyber security, FPGA-based system design, real-time embedded systems, and the Internet of Things. Students undertake an individual project that consolidates their knowledge and demonstrates their ability to design, develop, and implement sophisticated technology solutions. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and professional skills, ensuring graduates are equipped with the expertise, adaptability, and practical experience needed to succeed in modern computing, electronics, and engineering industries.
