COURSE CURRICULUM

The Graphic Design BA offers a comprehensive and structured pathway for developing both creative and technical expertise in visual communication. In the first year, students gain a broad grounding in contemporary graphic design practice and culture, learning to construct meaningful visual messages through image, typography, composition, layout, colour, history, and theory. This foundation is supported by optional modules in drawing, animation, and visual effects, allowing early experimentation and creative exploration. In the second year, students build on these skills by applying them to industry-standard briefs and national competitions, gaining proficiency in a range of software and tools, and choosing optional modules to explore areas such as UX/UI design, extended reality, web design, visual storytelling, and VFX. This allows students to begin defining their personal design direction while refining practical and conceptual abilities. The final year focuses on a major independent project, enabling students to synthesise their knowledge and showcase a professional portfolio. Optional modules further develop specialist interests in areas such as experimental image making, publishing, narrative design, and creative entrepreneurship. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on professional practice, collaboration, critical thinking, and employability, culminating in a student showcase that demonstrates the skills, creativity, and industry readiness graduates have acquired.
