COURSE CURRICULUM

The Games Art BA provides a comprehensive education in the creation of visual content for interactive media, blending artistic development with technical expertise. In the first year, students build foundational skills through core modules in 2D and 3D game art, environment design, game engines, and creative industry skills, alongside optional modules such as 2D animation, drawing, and typography to broaden their artistic practice. Year two focuses on developing advanced abilities, with core modules covering 3D world creation, character design, concepting, and collaborative game development, while optional modules allow exploration of areas including branding, extended reality, interactive narratives, UX/UI design, visual storytelling, and VFX, fostering interdisciplinary competence and industry readiness. In the final year, students consolidate their learning and produce a professional portfolio and major project in games art, supported by modules in professional practice. Optional modules in critical enquiry, narrative design, digital arts experimentation, and creative entrepreneurship encourage students to refine their artistic vision, conceptual thinking, and understanding of industry dynamics. Across all levels, the course emphasizes creative problem-solving, technical proficiency, and storytelling, preparing graduates to pursue careers as games artists, concept designers, or visual developers capable of producing innovative and engaging interactive experiences across diverse platforms and creative industries.
