COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Media Production BA provides a comprehensive education in media creation and communication, equipping students with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed for careers in the fast-evolving digital media industry. In the first year, students build foundational skills through modules such as Creating Digital Content, Storytelling Across Platforms, Digital Media and Society, and Media and Communication Research, while exploring professional practices within the creative industries. The second year focuses on developing technical and analytical expertise, with core modules in Theories of Media and Communication and Working in Digital Media, alongside pathway modules in video, social media, and podcast production. Students also choose from a wide range of optional modules covering areas such as interactive media, web design, journalism, human-computer interaction, and digital publishing, allowing them to tailor their studies to their career interests. In the final year, students consolidate their learning through substantial independent projects, including a Digital Media Project and a Dissertation or Individual Practice Project, while pathway modules like Advanced Content Creation with AI expand their skills in emerging technologies. Elective modules further enable specialization in areas such as creative advertising, long-form journalism, media law, public relations, and user experience design. By the end of the course, students graduate with a strong portfolio, practical expertise, and the professional skills required to succeed across diverse digital media roles.
