COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Media and Communication BA provides students with a comprehensive understanding of how digital media shapes society while equipping them with the practical skills needed for professional media careers. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge in creating digital content, understanding media and society, storytelling across multiple platforms, and research methods in media and communication. This year establishes essential skills and prepares students for practical and theoretical study in subsequent years. The second year deepens expertise through core modules on media theories and professional practice, complemented by pathway modules exploring internet cultures and advanced research methods. Students also select from a range of optional modules, allowing them to focus on areas such as 3D media, content creation, podcast production, web design, and audience engagement, tailoring their learning to specific interests and career goals. In the final year, students undertake a major digital media project and an individual dissertation or practice-based project, consolidating research, production, and critical analysis skills. A pathway module on data and society and optional modules covering areas such as creative advertising, journalism, public relations, user experience, and media ethics enable students to refine their expertise and professional profile. The program emphasizes industry relevance, creativity, and technical proficiency, preparing graduates for dynamic roles in digital media, communications, and related fields.
