COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Management (Entrepreneurship) BA Honours course is designed to develop the skills and knowledge required to succeed as an entrepreneur or intrapreneur in today’s dynamic business environment. In the first year, students are introduced to the functions of business organisations, the broader business environment, and essential management skills, including accounting, marketing, analytics, and organisational behaviour. They gain a foundational understanding of financial reporting and analysis while exploring the global context of business and ethical considerations. Year two builds on these foundations by focusing on idea generation, business planning, and operational management for small businesses. Students engage in practical projects such as New Venture Creation, developing and pitching a business plan, and Entrepreneurial Practice, which includes team-based crowdfunding campaigns. They also develop project management and leadership skills through experiential learning. In the final year, the emphasis shifts to commercialising enterprises, creating viable business models, and developing minimum viable products. Students explore current themes in entrepreneurship, including entrepreneurial mindset, family businesses, and artificial intelligence, while refining teamwork, leadership, and professional skills. The curriculum culminates with the Global Strategic Management module, simulating strategic decision-making in commercial organisations. Graduates leave the program equipped with the knowledge, practical experience, and entrepreneurial mindset to launch businesses, contribute to innovative ventures, and succeed in a range of professional contexts.
