COURSE CURRICULUM

The Global Trade and Business top-up degree at Level 6 offers students the opportunity to engage with real-world business scenarios, developing a practical understanding of how international trade and economic policies affect organisational decision-making. Through the study of case studies, students examine the impact of major policies and initiatives, such as Brexit and China’s Belt and Road Initiative, exploring their influence on global business networks, trade flows, and economic growth. Core modules include International Trade, International Political Economy, and Strategic Perspectives, which provide a comprehensive foundation in global commerce, economic frameworks, and strategic management. Students also develop essential research skills through the Research Methods in Business module and gain practical, hands-on experience in professional environments via the Professional Experience in Global Trade and Business module. The program culminates in the Global Trade and Business Project, allowing students to apply their analytical, problem-solving, and strategic skills to a self-directed research or consultancy project relevant to international trade and business operations. By integrating theory with applied learning, the course prepares students for careers in global trade, policy analysis, consultancy, and management roles within multinational organisations. Graduates leave with a deep understanding of the dynamics of international commerce and the skills to make informed, strategic decisions in a complex and interconnected global economy.
