COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Sustainable Technology and Management program is designed to address the global challenges of climate change, with a focus on the need for sustainable solutions across the manufacturing and services sectors. As many economies adopt Net Zero targets by 2050, this course aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG13: Climate Action. It aims to equip students with the skills needed to implement circular economy principles in real-world business practices, while contributing to the £3 trillion global market in environmental goods and services.The program provides a comprehensive understanding of sustainable operations and engineering solutions, focusing on the strategic and operational challenges organizations face. The Sustainable Engineering Management pathway emphasizes the application of these principles to improve the quality and efficiency of sustainable operations in the manufacturing and services sectors.For the Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) stage, students will study core modules such as Operations Management for Sustainability, Sustainable Energy Sources and Storage, and Sustainability Principles, each worth 20 credits. Students will also choose from optional modules including Managing Quality, Project Management Fundamentals, Postgraduate Research Methods, and Stakeholder Management and Governance (20 credits each). Upon completion of the PgDip, students will proceed to the MSc Dissertation module (60 credits), where they will conduct detailed research and critical analysis on a specific project related to sustainable technology and management.
