COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Psychology (Conversion) program is accredited by the British Psychological Society, enabling graduates to gain Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership, which is essential for pursuing a professional career or further postgraduate study in psychology. To achieve the MSc award, students must complete seven core modules that provide a comprehensive foundation in key areas of psychology. In the first term, students study Contemporary Social Psychology, Research Methods in Psychology, and Developmental Psychology, building an understanding of social behaviour, research techniques, and human development. In the second term, the focus shifts to Cognition, Biopsychology, and the Psychology of Individual Differences, offering insights into mental processes, the biological basis of behaviour, and variations between individuals. Alongside these taught modules, students undertake a substantial MSc Psychology Research Dissertation across terms two and three, which allows them to design and conduct independent research on a chosen topic under academic supervision. This structure ensures a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical research skills, preparing students for advanced study or professional training in psychology. Overall, the program equips graduates with a strong academic and scientific understanding of psychological principles, as well as transferable skills valuable across a wide range of careers.
