COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Finance and Accounting with CIMA is designed to provide students with specialist knowledge and practical skills in accounting and finance, enhancing their first degree in business or a related field. The program offers a structured approach, integrating both theoretical understanding and applied expertise to develop a critically aware perspective on financial management and accounting practices. During the taught phase, students complete core modules including Financial Reporting, Management Accounting, Corporate Financial Management, Advanced Management Accounting, Enterprise Management, and Business Research & Analysis, each worth 20 credits. These modules cover essential areas such as preparing and interpreting financial statements, managing organisational resources, analysing business performance, and applying research techniques to complex financial and business problems. Students who complete the taught phase successfully may exit with a Postgraduate Diploma if they choose not to proceed to the dissertation stage. Those continuing to the master’s phase undertake a 60-credit MSc dissertation, applying research skills and financial knowledge to a substantive project, which consolidates learning from the taught modules. By completing the full MSc, graduates develop a deep understanding of accounting and financial management, along with analytical, research, and decision-making skills, preparing them for professional careers in finance, management accounting, corporate finance, and other roles in national and international business environments.
