COURSE CURRICULUM

Our course offers various exit points, allowing students to leave with a Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert), Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip), or Master's award, depending on individual needs. However, most students typically complete the full Master's award (180 credits). The course details may differ for international students, who are directed to a separate section for specific delivery information. The MSc consists of both core and optional modules, structured as follows: The PgCert requires 60 credits, consisting of two core modules and one optional module (each worth 20 credits). The core modules for the PgCert are Quality Improvement in Healthcare (core, 20 credits) and Role Development in Nursing (core, 20 credits). Additionally, students select one optional 20-credit module from options such as Clinical Supervision: Health & Social Care (optional, 20 credits), Clinical Teaching (optional, 20 credits), Delivering Compassionate Care (optional, 20 credits), Independent Study (HSCE) (optional, 20 credits), and Introduction to eHealth (optional, 20 credits). Successful completion of the PgCert allows progression to the PgDip. The PgDip requires a further 60 credits, including two core modules: Research for Health & Social Care (core, 20 credits) and Leadership for Effectiveness (core, 20 credits). Students also choose one optional 20-credit module, such as Clinical Supervision: Health & Social Care (optional, 20 credits), Clinical Teaching (optional, 20 credits), Contemporary Cancer & Palliative Care (optional, 20 credits), Independent Study (HSCE) (optional, 20 credits), Introduction to eHealth (optional, 20 credits), Leadership for Effectiveness (optional, 20 credits), or Psychosocial Concerns (optional, 20 credits). Successful completion of the PgDip leads to the final stage, the MSc, which requires completion of the Research & Enquiry Dissertation module worth 60 credits.
