COURSE CURRICULUM

To achieve the MEd Educational Studies, students must complete six 20-credit modules and one 60-credit module, progressing through three stages. The first stage, the Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert), includes the core module Research Design in Education and two compulsory modules: Becoming Critical in Education and Global Perspectives on Education. After successful completion of the PgCert, students move to the Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip), where they study one compulsory module, Research and Pedagogy, and choose two 20-credit modules from options such as Philosophy of Education, Sociology of Childhood, Education for Sustainability, and Inclusive Leadership Practices. Upon completing the PgDip, students proceed to the MEd stage, where they have the option to either complete a research module, Master's Dissertation (60 credits), or a taught module, Critical Discourse in Pedagogy and Practices (60 credits).
