COURSE CURRICULUM

The Events and Tourism Management BA (Hons) program is structured over four years, progressively developing students’ knowledge and practical skills. In Year 1, students are introduced to foundational business management concepts such as marketing, finance, and managing people, alongside core modules in live events and the experience economy, establishing a broad understanding of the events and tourism industries. Year 2 focuses on planning and operations, deepening knowledge in event design, tourism operations, and consumer behaviour, with practical experience gained through staging a live event. In Year 3, the emphasis shifts to management and experiential learning, with specialised modules covering areas such as eventful places, tourism, transport, and mobility. Students also develop research skills in preparation for their final-year dissertation and can select optional modules, including language studies, to suit personal interests and career goals. Year 4, the honours year, centres on independent research through a dissertation on a chosen topic, while expanding understanding of global trends, policies, and strategic issues affecting events and tourism. Optional modules allow students to further tailor their studies to their career aspirations. Throughout the program, a combination of academic study, practical projects, and industry engagement ensures graduates are well prepared for professional roles in the dynamic global events and tourism sectors.
