COURSE CURRICULUM

In Year 1, you will lay the foundation for your studies through the ASPIRE module, focusing on developing academic, personal, and professional skills. Key topics such as collaborative working, evidence-based practice, foundations in health and social care, communication skills, and health promotion will guide you toward your desired career in health and social care. Year 2 continues your development with a second ASPIRE module, further strengthening your skills. You will revisit topics from Year 1, including collaborative working, and gain deeper knowledge in areas like research approaches, person-centred care, empowering service users, population health, and the psychology of health and wellbeing. In Year 3, the final ASPIRE module will help you consolidate your academic and professional growth while preparing you for career development. You will explore more complex health and social care topics and have the opportunity to specialize in areas like health and social care integration, dementia care, palliative care, pain management, and long-term conditions. This will help you focus on the specific sector you aim to work in. In Year 4, the focus shifts to leadership and teaching, helping you gain skills to lead teams, teach colleagues, and develop approaches in public health and quality improvement. Your studies culminate in the completion of an honours dissertation on a health or social care topic of your choice. This capstone project allows you to explore your chosen area in-depth, equipping you with expert knowledge and preparing you for employment in your desired health or social care field. The course offers a comprehensive approach to personal and professional growth, ensuring you are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities in the health and social care sectors.
