COURSE CURRICULUM

The Cyber Security BEng (Hons) program is structured across four levels, progressively building knowledge and practical skills in computing and security. At Level 7, students develop foundational understanding through modules such as web development, programming, computing systems, networking (CCNA 1), and mathematics for security, alongside a personal development course. Level 8 advances technical skills with core subjects including operating systems, ethical hacking, and Linux administration, while offering options like programming for cyber security or CCNA 2 networking. At Level 9, the focus shifts to more specialized and analytical areas such as cryptography, digital forensics, systems programming, and research and professional practice, with optional modules in web application security testing or CyberOps. Finally, Level 10 emphasizes advanced expertise and professional readiness through a major honours project, secure programming, advanced forensics, and governance, risk, and compliance, with options to study either network security or machine learning for data analytics. Overall, the course blends theoretical knowledge with practical skills, preparing students for careers in cyber security, digital forensics, and secure systems development.
