COURSE CURRICULUM

The Aerospace Engineering BEng (Hons) program is structured over four years, progressively developing students’ knowledge and technical skills in engineering design and aerospace systems. In year one, students build a strong foundation by studying aircraft aerodynamics, systems, materials, and mathematics, while also developing communication, IT, and professional skills to support their academic and career growth. Year two expands on this foundation with more advanced topics such as aerospace structures and systems design, strength of materials, vibration theory, propulsion systems, and manufacturing technologies. Students also gain experience in computer-aided design and relevant information technology tools. In year three, the focus shifts to aircraft design and performance, including testing, measurement, and modelling using CAD, alongside simulation and analysis techniques. Project management skills are also introduced to prepare students for complex engineering tasks. In the final year, students deepen their understanding of aerodynamics and explore advanced topics such as the design, analysis, and testing of composite structures. They also gain experience in sophisticated engineering tools, including finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics. Overall, the program provides a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, preparing graduates for careers in aerospace engineering and related industries.
