COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Accounting is a four-year program that provides students with a comprehensive foundation in financial and management accounting while progressively introducing specialised areas and practical applications relevant to professional practice. In year one, students gain an understanding of core accounting principles and their role in the wider business context, studying modules such as financial and management accounting, business economics, data analysis, and digital skills for accounting and finance. Assessment methods include examinations, class tests, practical reports, and presentations. Year two builds on this foundation with more advanced financial and management accounting, business law, financial management, and introductory business ethics, alongside quantitative methods and personal tax, enhancing analytical and professional competencies. Year three focuses on in-depth accounting knowledge, covering auditing, advanced management accounting, personal and business taxation, financial accounting, and financial management through case studies, exams, and group reports. The final year allows students to specialise further and develop independent research skills, completing a dissertation and studying contemporary issues in accounting, development of accounting standards, finance in a digital world, and optional modules such as financial modelling, personal finance, and Python for accounting. Across all four years, the program combines theoretical learning with practical application, equipping graduates with the expertise, analytical skills, and professional insight required for careers in accounting, taxation, auditing, and financial management.
