COURSE CURRICULUM

The MRes Health and Care Research programme provides students with advanced research training and practical experience designed to support professional development within health, care, social work, and public health settings. The course includes modules in qualitative and quantitative health and care research, preparation for research practice, and research practice placements, allowing students to develop a broad understanding of modern research methods and their application in real healthcare environments. A major component of the programme is the Extended Research Project, where students conduct independent research under the guidance of an experienced research supervisor. The course is delivered by academic and clinical experts who are actively involved in funded health and care research projects, ensuring that teaching reflects current industry priorities and professional practice. Delivered through blended learning, the programme offers flexibility for both full-time and part-time students, enabling learners to balance study with professional commitments.
