COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Mechanical Engineering provides a comprehensive, one-year program designed to develop advanced technical and practical skills for a career in engineering. Students will study core modules such as Mechanisms of Materials Failure, Engineering Design and Simulation, and Lean Six Sigma, gaining expertise in the analysis, design, and optimisation of engineering systems. The course also covers Non-Destructive Testing, which equips students with methods to assess materials and components safely and efficiently, as well as Robotics and Automation in Operations, providing knowledge of modern industrial technologies and automated processes. Sustainable Operations Management is included to ensure students understand how to implement environmentally responsible and efficient practices within engineering projects. Research Methods are integrated to develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to apply evidence-based approaches. The program culminates in a Master’s Project, where students consolidate their learning by tackling a complex, real-world engineering challenge, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on developing problem-solving abilities, project management skills, and technical competence, preparing graduates for leadership roles in industry or research. By the end of the program, students will have a well-rounded skill set, combining technical expertise, operational insight, and research capability, making them highly competitive in the engineering sector.
