COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Environmental Conservation and Management includes several compulsory modules that provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to manage environmental challenges effectively. The Environmental Planning and Policy module explores how laws, policies, and planning strategies are used to protect natural environments and guide sustainable development. In Energy and Resource Management, students learn how natural resources and energy systems can be managed responsibly to reduce environmental impact and promote efficiency. The Sustainable Development module examines the balance between economic growth, environmental protection, and social well-being, encouraging students to think about long-term solutions for global environmental issues. Research Methods and Professional Development helps students develop the research, analytical, and professional skills required for environmental careers and academic work. The GIS and Habitat Management module introduces geographic information systems and their use in mapping, analysing, and managing habitats and ecosystems. Strategic Management for Conservation focuses on planning and implementing effective conservation strategies to protect biodiversity and natural landscapes. The program concludes with a Master’s Project, where students conduct independent research on an environmental topic of their choice. This project allows them to apply the knowledge and practical skills gained during the course to address real-world environmental problems and demonstrate their ability to contribute to environmental conservation and management.
