COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Data Science and Analytics includes a set of modules designed to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in analysing and managing complex data. Students begin with Database Systems, where they learn how to organise, store, and retrieve large datasets efficiently. The Data Mining and Visualisation module focuses on discovering useful patterns within large datasets and presenting results through clear visual tools that help decision making. Advanced Statistical Programming develops students’ ability to use programming and statistical techniques to analyse data and build predictive models. The Application of Machine Learning module introduces methods that allow computer systems to learn from data and make accurate predictions or automated decisions. In the Artificial Intelligence module, students explore key AI concepts and algorithms that are used in modern data-driven technologies. Data Security, Governance and Compliance examines how organisations manage, protect, and regulate data while ensuring ethical and legal standards are maintained. Throughout the program, students develop analytical and technical skills needed to work with complex datasets and real-world data challenges. The course concludes with a Master’s Project, where students apply their knowledge to investigate and solve a significant data-related problem. This project demonstrates their ability to integrate technical skills, research methods, and analytical thinking in practical data science applications.
