COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Data and Artificial Intelligence includes a range of modules designed to build a strong foundation in data science, artificial intelligence, and analytical problem solving. Students begin by studying Database Systems, where they learn how to organise, manage, and retrieve large amounts of data effectively. The Data Mining and Visualisation module focuses on analysing complex datasets and presenting insights through clear visual representations. Advanced Statistical Programming develops students’ ability to use programming and statistical tools to analyse data and build predictive models. The Application of Machine Learning module introduces techniques that allow computer systems to learn from data and make intelligent predictions or decisions. In the Artificial Intelligence module, students explore core AI concepts, algorithms, and their applications across different industries. Data Security, Governance and Compliance examines how organisations manage and protect data while following legal and ethical standards. Students also complete Research Methods and Professional Development, which strengthens their research, analytical, and professional skills needed for both academic and industry environments. The program concludes with a substantial Master’s Project, where students apply their knowledge to investigate and solve a real-world data or AI problem. This final project allows students to demonstrate their ability to integrate technical knowledge, research skills, and practical problem-solving in the field of artificial intelligence and data science.
