COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics includes a range of specialised modules that develop students’ knowledge and practical skills in protecting digital systems and investigating cyber incidents. The program begins with Research Methods and Professional Development, which prepares students to conduct academic and technical research while developing professional skills relevant to the cybersecurity industry. Cloud Engineering Principles and Practice explores the design, deployment, and management of cloud-based systems, helping students understand modern computing infrastructures. Data Security, Governance and Compliance focuses on protecting sensitive data and understanding legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements related to information security. Students also study Enterprise Network Security, where they learn how to secure large organisational networks and prevent unauthorised access. The Ethical Hacking module introduces penetration testing techniques used to identify vulnerabilities and strengthen system defences against cyber-attacks. In Digital Forensics Analysis, students develop the ability to collect, preserve, and analyse digital evidence from computer systems and networks, which is essential for investigating cybercrime. The program places strong emphasis on practical and technical learning, allowing students to apply their knowledge to real-world cybersecurity challenges. The course concludes with a Master’s Project, where students conduct an in-depth research or practical investigation related to cybersecurity or digital forensics, demonstrating their ability to analyse complex problems and propose effective security solutions.
