COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics includes a range of modules designed to develop students’ technical knowledge and practical abilities in protecting digital systems and investigating cyber incidents. The program begins with Research Methods and Professional Development, which helps students develop research, analytical, and professional skills needed for academic study and careers in cybersecurity. Cloud Engineering Principles and Practice introduces students to modern cloud computing environments, focusing on how cloud systems are designed, managed, and secured. Data Security, Governance and Compliance explores methods for protecting sensitive information while understanding legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements related to data management and security. Students also study Enterprise Network Security, where they learn how to protect large organisational networks from cyber threats and unauthorised access. The Ethical Hacking module focuses on penetration testing techniques used to identify system vulnerabilities and strengthen security defences against cyber-attacks. In Digital Forensics Analysis, students learn how to collect, preserve, and analyse digital evidence from computers and networks, which is essential for investigating cybercrime and security breaches. The program emphasises practical learning and real-world problem solving. It concludes with a Master’s Project, where students undertake an in-depth research or practical investigation related to cybersecurity or digital forensics, applying their knowledge to analyse complex security challenges and propose effective solutions.
