COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Fine Art – Contemporary Dialogues program includes a range of compulsory modules that support the development of creative practice, critical thinking, and independent artistic research. The Coexistent Perspectives module encourages students to explore different viewpoints within contemporary art, helping them understand how diverse cultural, social, and artistic influences shape creative practice. The Thought Experiment module focuses on developing conceptual thinking, allowing students to test new ideas and approaches while reflecting on the relationship between theory and artistic practice. Collaborative Dialogues emphasises the importance of working with others, encouraging students to engage in discussions, critiques, and collaborative projects with fellow artists and creative practitioners. These interactions help students expand their understanding of contemporary art and develop confidence in presenting and discussing their work. Explorative Research and Praxis is a major part of the program, where students investigate ideas, materials, and methods through experimental artistic practice and research. This module supports the development of a personal artistic direction and encourages innovation in creative work. Confirmative Praxis builds on this research by guiding students in refining and completing a significant body of work that demonstrates their artistic development and professional practice. Together, these modules allow students to explore artistic techniques, develop their personal voice, and produce a strong portfolio that reflects their creative vision and understanding of contemporary art practice.
