COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB Law and Legal Practice program is structured over three years to provide a progressive understanding of law and legal practice, preparing students for careers in the legal profession. In the first year, students are introduced to core areas of law, including criminal law, criminal litigation, tort law, public law, and legal process. Emphasis is placed on developing essential skills in legal research, writing, and analysis, forming a strong foundation in the principles and functioning of the English legal system. The second year builds on this knowledge with more advanced studies, including contract law, civil litigation, family law and practice, business law and practice, and public law. Students further refine their research skills and gain practical insight into the application of legal principles in both civil and business contexts. In the final year, the focus shifts to specialised areas such as conveyancing, equity and trusts, probate practice, and land law, alongside the Principles of Professional Legal Practice module, which prepares students for professional life in law. Through a combination of core and specialised modules, the program equips graduates with critical thinking, analytical abilities, and practical expertise. By completing this course, students gain the knowledge, skills, and professional understanding necessary to pursue careers as solicitors, barristers, or other legal professionals within the civil and criminal justice systems.
