COURSE CURRICULUM

This program is structured in two stages that guide students from advanced taught study to independent applied research. In Part One, students develop strong analytical and critical thinking skills while gaining a deep understanding of business research theories and methods. The taught modules focus on quantitative research methods, research principles and philosophy, and theoretical perspectives on management, helping students build a solid academic foundation. Through a critical literature review and a module on converting research into practice, students learn how to evaluate existing knowledge and apply it to real organisational challenges. These modules are closely linked to professional practice, enabling students to identify a relevant workplace issue and prepare effectively for doctoral-level research. The final module in Part One supports the transition to independent study by ensuring students are ready to advance to the doctoral research stage. In Part Two, students undertake a substantial applied research dissertation focused on a real-world problem within their organisation or industry. With guidance from experienced supervisors, students produce a doctoral thesis that delivers practical insights and evidence-based solutions. This stage supports leadership development, professional growth, and career progression, while enabling students to contribute innovative ideas and meaningful change within their field.
