COURSE CURRICULUM

The Motorsport Management with Year in Industry degree at UWTSD is structured to combine academic learning with practical professional experience, preparing students for careers across the motorsport sector. In the first year, students gain a foundation in key business and technical areas, including marketing fundamentals, people and organisations, legal foundations, engineering skills, introduction to motorsport business, and core motorsport technologies, providing essential knowledge for the industry. The second year builds on this foundation by focusing on applied management and event skills, with modules covering marketing in practice, contract law, sports infrastructure, managing innovation and change, motorsport event management, and project-based design work. The third year is dedicated to a year-long professional placement, allowing students to gain hands-on experience within motorsport teams, venues, or related companies. This placement develops practical skills in communication, leadership, analytical thinking, and business management while providing exposure to real-world industry operations. In the final year, students return to campus to consolidate their learning through advanced modules, including an independent project, contemporary issues in management, managing and leading sports organisations, engineering sustainability, logistics and operations, and engineering management. The program integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience, ensuring graduates are equipped with the expertise, professional skills, and industry insight required to succeed in motorsport management and related sectors.
