COURSE CURRICULUM

The Motorsport Management BSc (Hons) degree at UWTSD is structured to provide a comprehensive blend of business, technical, and management skills tailored to the motorsport industry. In the first year, students gain a strong foundation through modules covering marketing fundamentals, people and organisations, legal foundations, engineering skills, and an introduction to motorsport business, alongside introductory technical knowledge in powertrain and motorsport technology. This prepares students for more specialised learning in the second year, which focuses on applying management concepts to motorsport, including marketing in practice, contract law, sports infrastructure, event management, innovation, and project management, supported by group design projects that develop collaboration and problem-solving skills. The final year emphasises advanced management and technical understanding, with modules such as contemporary issues in management, managing and leading sports organisations, motorsport logistics and operations, engineering management, and sustainability, ethics, and inclusion. Students also complete an independent project, enabling them to integrate their knowledge and demonstrate practical and research skills. Across the program, students develop a mix of technical, operational, and leadership competencies, preparing them for careers with racing teams, governing bodies, circuits, and other motorsport-related organisations. The degree combines theoretical understanding with practical experience, ensuring graduates are ready to manage and contribute effectively in the fast-paced, dynamic motorsport industry.
