COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Integrated Health and Social Care program provides a comprehensive pathway for students to develop the knowledge, skills, and practical experience required for a career in health and social care. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in key areas such as counselling, communication, and therapeutic relationships, psychology in health and social care, management, organisational behaviour, and digital skills. These modules provide essential understanding of public health, wellbeing, and the principles underpinning effective practice. In the second year, students advance their learning with a focus on health promotion, public health, social care practices, and physiology, while developing research and analytical skills through independent investigation and evidence-based practice. Topics such as protecting and supporting families and principles of health and social care practice prepare students for real-world challenges. The final year emphasizes strategic understanding of health and social care policy, leadership, and management, alongside health, wellbeing, and sustainable development. Students apply their learning through an independent project, exploring complex issues and implementing solutions in professional contexts. Additional modules cover digital transformation, psychopathological classifications, and empowering older people, ensuring graduates are equipped with practical skills and critical knowledge. By the end of the program, students are prepared for employment, career progression, and professional practice across a range of health and social care environments, with the confidence to make a meaningful impact.
