COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the Environment, Sustainability and Climate Change program, students develop a strong foundation in environmental knowledge and key academic skills. Modules introduce major environmental issues and the importance of protecting ecosystems while also strengthening digital literacy and problem-solving abilities. Students study topics such as biodiversity and ecosystem services, climate change and visual activism, physical landscapes and the geosphere, as well as field and laboratory skills that provide practical experience. These modules help students understand environmental challenges and prepare them for professional work in the sector. In the second year, students explore environmental topics in greater depth while also developing research skills and preparing for future careers. Modules focus on areas such as coastal, marine and wildlife conservation, environmental legislation and the circular economy, low carbon technologies, and water resources and environmental monitoring. Students also take part in changemaker modules designed to encourage creativity, innovation, and personal career development, helping them build a professional identity in the sustainability field. In the final year, students study more advanced topics related to environmental management and sustainability. These include environmental assessment, management and auditing, geographical information systems and remote sensing technologies, habitat management, and sustainable urban communities. Students also complete an independent research project, allowing them to investigate a topic of personal interest and apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the program.
