The Automotive and Transport Design BA program is structured to develop students’ skills progressively over three years, preparing them for a career in the transport industry. In the first year, students focus on foundational design skills, including drawing, clay modelling, and using digital tools such as computer-aided design and virtual reality. These techniques allow students to translate ideas into visual and physical forms, while projects introduce them to designing vehicles that are both functional and aesthetically engaging. The second year builds on this foundation, with a deeper focus on advanced digital modelling, visualisation, and automotive surfacing. Students work on complex design projects for land, sea, and air vehicles, collaborating with peers to develop teamwork and problem-solving skills. This year also emphasizes professional development, helping students build personal branding and prepare for employment in the sector. In the final year, students concentrate on career readiness through real-world experience and independent design projects. The major project integrates all skills learned across the program, allowing students to demonstrate creativity, technical expertise, and innovation. By the end of the course, graduates will have a strong portfolio showcasing sustainable and forward-thinking designs, alongside the technical and creative competencies required to succeed in the automotive and transport design industry.
