COURSE CURRICULUM

The Energy and Environmental Engineering with Foundation Year program is structured to gradually develop students’ engineering knowledge and understanding of sustainable energy systems. In the foundation year, students build essential knowledge in mathematics, science, and academic skills while gaining an introduction to engineering concepts and sustainable practices. They also develop teamwork and project management abilities through an integrating project, which prepares them for further study. In the second year, students begin the main engineering curriculum and study core subjects such as electrical and electronic principles, engineering science, engineering mathematics, and engineering design. They also learn about engineering applications, study skills, and materials with an introduction to processing, helping them understand how engineering principles are applied in real-world contexts. The third year focuses on more specialised topics related to sustainable engineering. Students study areas such as control and automation, stress analysis and dynamics, thermofluid mechanics, and environmental engineering with a focus on sustainable energy systems. A group project encourages collaboration and leadership while applying technical knowledge to engineering challenges. In the final year, students explore advanced subjects including environmental pollution control, plant and asset engineering, structural and fluid analysis, and computational methods. The program concludes with an independent project, allowing students to apply their skills and knowledge to solve a real-world energy or environmental engineering problem.
